Each year The South Tyler Rotary Club joins with Rotary International and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to raise money for the eradication of Polio. This effort has been ongoing since the early 1980s and the goal of complete elimination of Polio is almost complete.
In 2009-2010 The South Tyler Rotary Club held its first golf tournament, the South Tyler Rotary Club Golf Challenge at Emerald Bay Country Club. The event was chaired by Paul Ingle (below, second from left). Celebrity long-drive champion Mat “Hoss” Vilade helped with the LONG drives.

Money raised from the tournament was presented to District Governor Randi Duckworth.
